1. Is the BLS class the same as BLS for Healthcare Providers?

Yes — the BLS (Basic Life Support) course and BLS for Healthcare Providers are the same class. The American Heart Association (AHA) simply shortened the name. This course is intended for healthcare professionals, first responders, and anyone who needs a certification for clinical or occupational requirements.


2. When will I receive my certification?

In most cases, certifications are issued the same day as your class.
However, please allow up to five (5) business days for processing in certain situations, such as system delays or verification checks.

3. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards through Square for secure payment processing.
We also accept Venmo for convenience. Payment is typically due before or at the start of your class.

4. What is the minimum age to learn CPR?

While there is no official minimum age, students should be able to understand the instructions and perform chest compressions effectively.
Generally, children as young as 10 years old can successfully learn and perform CPR with guidance.

5. Do you offer group classes?

Yes! We provide group training sessions for schools, businesses, healthcare facilities, and community organizations.
Group classes can be held onsite at your location or scheduled at one of our designated training sites.
Discounts are often available for large groups or repeat clients.

6. Are your instructors certified with the American Heart Association (AHA)?

Absolutely. All of our instructors are AHA-certified and follow the latest 2025 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC (Emergency Cardiovascular Care).
We maintain active instructor status through regular updates, evaluations, and continuing education to ensure our training meets the highest standards.

7. Can I take a class even if I don’t need certification?

Yes, of course! We welcome anyone who simply wants to learn lifesaving skills without needing a certification card.
You’ll receive the same high-quality instruction and hands-on practice — just without the certification fee or testing requirement.

8. Are your instructors certified through Pennsylvania PQAS?

Yes. Our instructors are registered with the Pennsylvania Quality Assurance System (PQAS).
PQAS certification is required for anyone providing CPR or First Aid training to Pre-K programs, daycare centers, or childcare facilities in Pennsylvania.

This state-level credential ensures that instructors meet additional standards beyond AHA certification.


It’s important to note that while AHA certification allows us to issue official AHA cards, daycares and preschools can only accept CPR cards issued by PQAS-approved instructors.

This requirement does not apply to EMS agencies, healthcare providers, or school nurses — it specifically affects childcare-related facilities.
Our PQAS-certified instructors ensure your organization receives valid, state-approved training every time.


9. How long does a class take to complete?

Most classes take between 3 and 6 hours, depending on the course type and class size.

  • Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid: about 3–6 hours

  • Basic Life Support (BLS): about 3–4 hours

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) + First Aid: about 4–6 hours

  • Skills check-off only: about 30–45 minutes
    Stop the Bleed: 1-2 hours


10. How long is my certification valid?

All American Heart Association (AHA) certifications are valid for two (2) years from the date of issue.
You can renew your card by taking a renewal course or full certification class before it expires.

11. What should I bring to class?

Please bring a photo ID, and if applicable, your current AHA certification card if you’re attending a renewal course.


All training materials, manikins, and equipment will be provided — you just need to show up ready to learn!


Each class includes a student workbook, which can be purchased separately from the American Heart Association website. Don’t worry if you forget to order one — we have plenty of visual training aids and materials available to help guide your learning experience.


If a class offers EMS ConEd credit, please ensure you bring your Registry Number with you.

Please note that EMS ConEd credit is no longer accepted for Basic Life Support or CPR classes. However, Stop the Bleed and First Aid (listed as General First Aid Refresher) courses may qualify for EMS ConEd credit.


Public classes are not automatically set up for ConEd submission, this option is typically only available to local fire departments and EMS agencies in the Butler County area.

12. What happens if I’m late or miss my class?

If you’re running late, please notify us as soon as possible.
Students arriving more than 15 minutes late may be asked to reschedule, as class time is structured around mandatory AHA content.
Missed classes can usually be rescheduled for a later date.

13. Do you travel to other locations?

Yes, we offer onsite training throughout Butler County, and we also travel to parts of Armstrong, Lawrence, and Beaver Counties.
If you have a group of five (5) or more, we can bring the class to your location — schools, offices, fire departments, and community centers are all welcome.

14. Do you offer renewal or skills-only sessions?

Yes, we provide renewal courses and skills-only check-offs for students who’ve completed the online portion of their AHA course (HeartCode).
Just bring your online completion certificate, and we’ll perform the hands-on skills evaluation to complete your certification.

15. Is your training OSHA-compliant?

Yes — all of our CPR, AED, and First Aid courses meet or exceed OSHA, EMS, and state regulatory standards for workplace safety compliance.
This ensures your staff or organization receives valid, recognized training documentation.

16. What should I wear to class?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to kneel and perform chest compressions.
Since the class involves hands-on practice, athletic or business-casual attire is recommended.

17. Do you offer discounts or special rates?

We occasionally offer group discounts, community rates, and special pricing for fire departments, EMS agencies, and schools.

18. Can I host a private class for my team or organization?

Absolutely! We specialize in private group classes for schools, childcare centers, businesses, and first responder groups.
We bring all equipment and materials — all you need to provide is a suitable space and participants.

19. Do you provide training for daycare or early education staff?

Yes — through our PQAS-approved instructors, we offer CPR and First Aid classes that meet Pennsylvania childcare licensing requirements.
This includes specialized training tailored for Pre-K, daycare, and preschool staff.

20. Do your classes offer EMS ConEd credits

Some of our courses may qualify for EMS Continuing Education (ConEd) credit, but this option is limited.


Stop the Bleed and First Aid (listed as General First Aid Refresher) are eligible for ConEd credit.


Basic Life Support and Heartsaver CPR alone no longer qualifies for EMS ConEd under current guidelines.


Public classes are not automatically set up for ConEd submission. This option is typically reserved for local fire departments and EMS agencies in the Butler County area.
