Butler County CPR is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities.

Our standard

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA — the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the W3C. This means our site is designed to be usable by people who:

  • Use screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
  • Navigate by keyboard only
  • Need high color contrast or larger text
  • Use voice control or switch devices
  • Have cognitive or learning differences

What we've built in

  • Semantic HTML with proper headings, landmarks, and form labels
  • Skip-to-main-content link on every page
  • Visible focus indicators on every interactive element
  • Alternative text on all meaningful images
  • Color contrast meeting AA ratios
  • Forms with clear error messages announced to assistive technology
  • Payment + confirmation flows that work with screen readers
  • Keyboard-navigable booking, registration, and certification verification

Known limitations

We are actively working to improve a few areas:

  • Generated PDF certificates and rosters may not be fully tagged for screen readers yet. If you need an accessible alternative, contact us at class@butlercpr.com and we will provide one.
  • Some legacy email templates use older HTML layouts that may render unevenly in voice-output settings.

Report a barrier

If you encounter content that is difficult to access, we want to know. Please contact us:

We aim to respond within two business days and will provide the information in an accessible format on request.
